The Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board has issued a draft for public comment of its 2014 request for proposals (RFP) for charter schools planning to open in 2015-2016 or later. The public is invited to review the RFP and share written comments with the board. Public comments must be submitted via email no later than 5 p.m. on June 19, 2014, to charterschools@mississippi.edu. The Parents’ Campaign Research and Education Fund submitted comments to the board (see “Public Comments Submitted by TPCREF” below) regarding concerns about how the draft RFP addresses virtual charters, transportation provisions, admissions process/lottery, and track record of charter school leadership team.
